Step 1: Setup the primary velop node

To set up the primary velop node, follow the below steps:

  • First of all, download and open the Linksys app, from there, select the launch setup option.

  • Then, Linksys will ask for the permissions for the data location to function, click on the allow button.

  • Now, read the terms and conditions very carefully and then click on the “agree” button.

  • After that, it will ask you to select the type of router settings, you need to select the velop option.

  • Next, select the type of setup that you have.

  • Then, plug in your velop node and tap on the “it’s plugged in” button.

  • Now, pace your velop in the open area and tap on the “it’s in the open” button.

  • Thereafter, connect your new velop to the modem through an ethernet cable and click on the “it’s connected” button.

  • After this, your smartphone will communicate with your new router and will start setting up the internet connection.

  • When you see a purple light on your velop node, click on the next button.

  • Then, enter your email address and create a password, then click on create account button.

  • After creating an account, enter your email address and password again and click on next.

  • Now, enter your WiFi network name and password and click on the next button.

  • Next, select a name for your velop node and click on the next button.

  • Your primary node is set up and is ready to use, click on the next button.

  • If you don’t want to add another router then click on the “that’s it for now” button.

  • Now, your node will ask you to allow it to report errors, click on the next button.


Step 2: Setup the secondary velop node

After setting the primary node, follow the below steps to set up the secondary node

  • First of all, open the Linksys app and go to the menu tab.

  • From the menu tab, select the “set up a new product” option.

  • Then, click on the “add nodes” option.

  • Now, place your node in the open area and click on the “it’s in the open” button.

  • After this, your smartphone will start communicating with the router and will set up the internet connection for you.

  • When you see a purple light on your velop node, click on the next button.

  • Next, select a name for your velop node and click on the next button.

  • Finally, your velop node is ready to use, click on the next button.

  • Repeat this process, whenever you want to add a new node to your velop system.
