  • First and foremost, download and open the Linksys app and then click on the “launch setup” button.

  • When you see “allow Linksys to access this device’s location”, click on the allow button.

  • After that, carefully read the terms and conditions and then click on the “agree” button to proceed further.

  • Then, the system prompts you to select the type of router to set up, click on the “velop” option.

  • Now, make a selection between “I use a modem from my ISP” or “I have a gateway”

  • Thereafter, plug your Velop node into the wall socket and tap on the “it’s plugged in” option.

  • Next, locate your Velop node in the open area and click on “it’s in the open” option.

  • Connect your Velop node to the modem through an Ethernet cable and hit the “it’s connected” button.

  • Now, your smartphone will communicate to the router and will set up the internet connection for you.

  • When you see a purple light on the Velop node, click on the next button.

  • To manage your Velop network, type your email address in the required field, click on the create password option and then click on the create account option.

  • Next, enter the recently created login credentials and click on the next button.

  • After that, enter the name and password for your WiFi network, this username and password will be used for all the devices.

  • Now, choose the Velop node name or enter a new one and then click on the next button.

  • Finally, your primary node is set up and is ready to use. You just need to click on the next button to use it.

  • You can set up another node at any time. If you don’t want to set up the secondary node at this time then click on “that’s it for now”

  • Once you see a pop-up “allow your Velop to report crashes to use” click on the next button.


Steps to set up secondary node

Follow the below-mentioned steps to setup the secondary node:

  • First of all, open the Linksys app and click on the menu button.

  • After that, click on the “set up a new product” option and then click on the “add nodes” button.

  • Now, locate the node in an open area and then click on the “it’s in the open” button.

  • Then, your smartphone will communicate to the router and will connect your device to the router.

  • Once you see a purple light on the node, click on the next button.

  • Now, choose a Velop node and then click on the next button.

  • Now, your node is ready to use.
